MY NEW SUZUKI SAMURAI

Though i would post up pictures of my new Suzuki Samurai. I always thought the samurai was cool i dunno why, everthing is so wrong around them! I guess thats my style though i like the weird cars, Although their is quite a following for the little sammy. Tons of aftermarket stuff for them and in skilled hands very offroad capable. This samurai has been modified quite a bit already with a Rocky road outfitters coil spring suspension a nicely built 1.6 liter suzuki sidekick engine with weber carb and a 100 amp gm alternator i just installed lockright lockers in both diffs and 5.38 gears and other products from spidertrax and trail tough. I do have some work to do on this contraption though. The bumpsteer is HORRIBLE! and the thing drives on the road like a bucket of slop. I have some plans in the making to make the front link arms adjustable for some added castor which it needs badly, its pretty scary to drive. I'm also hunting for a back seat so my kids came come along when its time to go play. also power steering in the works and a winch and new front bumper. Im sure their will be more as funds allow.

OLD WELDERS THESE WERE MADE TO BUILD AMERICA!!

I've been a welder for about 13 years and seeing machines like these that basically built alot of america as we know today, and i'm sure other countrys as well. It almost makes me mad to see them setting in the bushes like this. That machine setting in the bushes now was how somebody made a living, To see it sitting their rusting away its a crying shame! Everyday skilled workers are losing jobs left and right. Some may look at this old welder and think, Big deal its just a welder. Well next time you drive over a bridge to get to your job that you hate, Just remember this welder, Because it, Or one just like it, Made that bridge your risking your life crossing everday to get to that lousy cubical to work on getting someone else rich. better pics can be found here. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v633/jesusno2/IMG_20110806_151635.jpg

CARINA BARN FIND!!

These old japanese cars can still be found all over our great country. These old cars may be hated by certain crowds but myself and many others love them! This is a great find for old toyota fans! If ya wanna see more click here http://community.ratsun.net/topic/22590-toyota-carina-barn-find/page__p__318963__hl__%2Btoyota+%2Bcarina+%2Bbarn+%2Bfind__fromsearch__1#entry318963

DO YOU LIKE JDM NISSAN ENGINES?

This truck i'm really diggin on. Datsun trucks have always been looked down on and thought of as just old beaters to haul garbage around in. Now some of the of these cool classics are being transformed into fire breathing detroit muscle killers like this one will be soon. The SR20DET engine is a highly popular motor for performance mods and is capable of making 300 whp quite easliy with a few bolt on mods, and fits into old classic datsuns quite nicley if I must say. Check out bradens build thread on this truck its a good example of what these old trucks deserve http://datsunminitruckin.com/sr20det-620_topic7_page1.html

THE TALE OF 2

So it started back in 2004 when I bought my '69 Wagon, pretty much all stock... About 6 months later I was talking with my buddy Troy (www.ermish-racing.com) about building a motor for the wagon (2.3L) while driving up to Sacramento to take a look at Mark Lowes FJ20 Turbo 510. When we got to Marks house and Troy made a deal to buy Mark's car and come to find out that it came with 2 extra FJ motors; One NA the other a stroker turbo motor in pieces. After strapping the car down and starting the long drive home we struck a deal to build the NA FJ motor for my wagon, it was also said that if Troy ever sold the "Turbo car" that I had first dibs. Eight months later once again Troy and I struck a deal and now I owned the Turbo car also. After dealing with the engine failure and a rebuid and a new tune it was back up and running as was the wagon. After finding out the new tune from Jim Wolf was crap I decided it was time to tear it all down and start over. It's been a little over two years and a lot of money but both cars (I'm hoping) will be up and running soon, money permitting. Just wanted to say thank you to my good friends that have helped me out along the way; Little Mikey (wiring), Mike Janke (Metal fab), Troy Ermish (Engine builds on both FJs), Lisa LaFranca (moral support) and the rest of my friends who have lent a hand along the way,

GOTTA LOVE THOSE 4DOORS

Dennis here as a fine example of what most 510's start out life as (a car bound for the crusher) I get so excited watching another person resurrecting another dime back from the dead. This car is in very good shape and i love the mods hes done to it so far. I'm actuall going to be modifying a fuel tank in the near future for him to use a nissan 240sx in tank pump should be fun stay tuned for that. FOR SALE!!! DATSUN TRUCK DISC BRAKE BRACKETS 160.00 SHIPPED LOWER 48!!!!

Parts Needed:

Front
Rotors: 2002 Honda passport, 2001-2004 Isuzu Rodeo, 2002-2003 Rodeo sport
Calipers: 1988-1997 D21 (Hardbody) calipers for 4wd, 2.4L
Pads: 1988-1997 D21 (Hardbody) pads for 4wd, 2.4L
Lines: Use the rubber hoses for the Hardbody calipers, and make new steel lines for the truck on the pre-1973 trucks only. The 620’s have the right thread on the hardlines and will hook right up.
Hardware: 12mm bolts are required to mount the caliper to the brackets, and 10mm bolts are required to mount the bracket to the spindle assy.

Master Cylinder

7/8” or 15/16” bore from any year 280zx with vertical mounting tabs. The 620 master cylinder will also work, but the mount has to be modified to fit the firewall on the pre-1973 trucks.

Instructions:

Remove wheels
1. Remove brake lines at the frame (320,520, and 521 only)
2. Remove drums
3. Remove dust cap and remove hub assembly
4. Un-bolt backing plate and remove
5. Install caliper bracket with ears facing rearward and spaced inboard
6. Install hub assembly onto spindle and re-install dust cap
7. Slide rotor over hub
8. Install calipers with bleeder at the top
9. Install lines
10. Bleed

Master cylinder
For 620 owners you can just replace the master with the larger bore M/C. To keep fabrication to a minimum use one that has the mounting tabs in the vertical position. I was able to use the 15/16” m/c and booster from a 720 but there was some modification needed to mount the booster itself. All of the fittings on the 620 are metric and you already have the required two lines. 520/521 install requires replacing the SAE fittings with metric ones. 520/521 installs will also require either a 280zx-proportioning valve or something comparable (Willwood adjustable) and lines run for the fronts

Please Contact Jason at beebani23@msn.com for info on purchasing these nifty brackets.

SOAP BOX RACER OR WHEEL BARROW??

I dunno which or if its just a conversation peice, What ever it is its bad ass! Emagine this with a gsxr motorcycle engine hanging out the back like a top fuel car! I had to share this cause its so cool.

A datsun built for hauling

No trailers for this datsun 620. Project midnight garage a import business outta orange county CA sent me these pictures. This truck doubles as a driver, and a delivery truck. Its sporting a built L20b with a high lift cam, hooker super comp header and dual sidedrafts. OHHH what a beautiful sound those sidedrafts make!! love it!

If ya got chrome ya better go home!

Matt sent me a photo of his cool datto. The Z car i never really like much until about the last year or so ive came around and this one is very cool I like the blacked out look. Matt says this car as a mind of its own. He told me the night he got it everything worked on the car, parked it in the garage overnight, Jumped in it the next morning and the only thing that worked was the engine! Hopefully he has got them bugs worked out now I hate seeing datsuns broke down on the road!

My new everlast powerpro 256 combo unit is here!

Ive actually had this new welder/plasma/stick machine for about a week now and have been using it for everything I can think of.  So far it works well I'm not a huge fan of the giant water cooled torch i got with it, but I may switch that later on down the road. I can honestley say I am pleased with the unit.  The down fall to this machine is the fact that the plasma cutter is way overrated. I think. 3/8 maybe 1/2 inch thick is about all this machine is really capable of, if you want a good cut (I have not cut 1/2 with it yet). For the money this is a very good machine. It is a import welder and i cant say how long its gonna last compared to the blue and red machines. So far it has the same features as the other more spendy welders, same amount of welding power if not more than the others. I really like the 4T and 2t positions cause alot of times when your under a car or hanging upside down to weld a joint its so nice to have a button on the torch to fire it up, instead of having to work the pedal. In the 4t mode you can set your start amps and end amps with the upslope & down slope feature which is very nice so you get a nice crisp clean start, and a clean stop with no crater/pin hole. very nice feature. Anyways enough rambling check out my little video I made of the plasma in action with my little homemade circle cutter.

HOME BUILT HOTNESS!

http://community.ratsun.net/topic/18492-home-built-hotness/page__hl__hotnessl
Have ya ever seen anything like this??? and every car has a story this 210 doubles as a work truck also!

My dad bought this car from an old man that towed it behind his motorhome since new. He traded it to the neighbor for an automatic honda for my sister. Two years later she bought it from him for her boyfriend to drive. Then, a year after that I forced them to sell it to me, for $200 in June-ish of 2007.
Been a Low Budget Fun daily ever sence! Got the carbs for free, and most of the rest of the accessories. Currently using it for a work truck, doin repair and mods on cars all around the Puget Sound. Bout to get a real work truck and bring the Pumpkn to the glory it deserves!
